How to Give Useful Feedback on a Video Edit
Useful feedback explains the issue and desired result. One consolidated set of notes helps the editor act without guessing which reviewer has the final say.

Review against the brief
Check the film's purpose, audience and agreed outputs first. Distinguish a factual error from a new idea or personal preference. If the central message has changed since filming, tell the producer rather than disguising it as a minor edit.
Use precise notes
Include timestamps and describe the requested correction. 'Replace the job title at 00:24' is clearer than 'the text feels wrong'. Explain why a scene or statement causes a problem so the editor can suggest a workable solution.
Collect approvals
Have factual, brand and safeguarding reviewers comment before sending one response. Resolve conflicting notes internally. Check the final export after changes, including captions and versions, and clearly identify the approved file for publication.
