How to Brief a Photographer Before Your Tanzania Holiday
A useful holiday photography brief can fit on one page. It should tell the photographer what matters to you and which practical details cannot change.

Describe the outcome
Explain who will receive the pictures and what you want them to feel like. Include a few references with notes: natural expressions, a sense of place, quiet observation or a more directed portrait. A reference is more useful when you explain the feature you like instead of asking for a copy of somebody else's trip.
Add the constraints
Share dates, locations, transfers, party size and any accessibility or privacy needs. Identify moments that happen once, such as a proposal or reunion. Explain what you do not want interrupted. If your family prefers no public sharing, put that in the brief rather than raising it after a gallery is delivered.
Turn wishes into deliverables
Separate essential photographs from optional ideas. State whether you need stills, an edited film, vertical clips or announcement images. Give an actual deadline when one exists. Ask the photographer to respond with coverage, outputs, costs and assumptions so both sides can spot gaps before booking.
