Planning Hotel Photography around Guests and Occupancy

The production schedule should protect guest privacy and normal operations. Room access and service timing matter as much as the photographer's preferred light.

Reserve the required spaces

Agree which rooms and public areas can be released and for how long. Avoid relying on a last-minute vacancy. Share check-in, housekeeping and meal-service patterns so the photographer can plan a realistic sequence.

Handle people deliberately

Do not treat occupied public spaces as consent to appear in marketing. Plan staff or model participation and keep unrelated guests out of frame where possible. Give the front desk a simple explanation of the production and a contact for questions.

Create an alternative queue

Prepare indoor details, food or another room while a priority area is unavailable. A coordinator should confirm readiness before the crew moves. If occupancy changes substantially, revise the shot list and costs rather than silently expecting the original schedule to remain possible.

Before you enquire

  • Guest privacy plan
  • Operations contact
  • Alternative ready-to-shoot scenes
