Building a Photography Shot List for a Safari Lodge

A lodge shot list should help a guest understand the stay. Organize it by experience and room category rather than collecting only decorative details.

Begin with booking decisions

Show sleeping spaces, bathrooms, views, shared areas and the relationship between them. Label room categories accurately. Include details that distinguish the property, but do not let close-ups replace the wide photographs needed to understand a room.

Add the guest experience

Food, service, arrivals and activities can explain how the stay feels. Confirm which experiences are genuinely available and who may appear. Wildlife or weather-dependent scenes should be optional rather than the only way to complete the library.

Prioritize the day

Mark each scene essential, useful or optional. Group by location and likely light, then check the plan with operations. Leave room for preparation and guest access. A shot list is a decision tool, not a promise that every scene can happen under any conditions.
