How Often Should a Hotel Update Its Photography?

Refresh photographs when they stop representing the property or answering current sales needs. A fixed annual replacement is less useful than a clear review of what has changed.

Audit accuracy first

Check rooms, bathrooms, grounds, dining and amenities against the live website and listings. Renovations, new furniture or a changed room category are strong reasons to update. Identify images that may set an expectation the property no longer meets.

Look for content gaps

A library can be current but incomplete. You may lack useful bathroom views, staff portraits, a new dining experience or vertical campaign material. List missing uses before commissioning a full reshoot. A focused assignment may solve the actual problem.

Maintain one approved library

Archive superseded files so partners do not continue using them. Label current versions and tell agents or designers which images replace older ones. Record the next review trigger, such as a renovation or seasonal launch, instead of forgetting the library until complaints appear.

Before you enquire

  • Accuracy audit
  • Missing sales content
  • Archived old versions
  • A clear next review trigger

Advice from a Moshi-based photography and film studio. Availability, fees, permissions and delivery are confirmed for each assignment; examples are planning guidance rather than a booking commitment.
