Choosing Sunrise or Sunset for Your Zanzibar Portrait Session
Sunrise and sunset offer different practical conditions depending on the beach. Start with your property's location and the direction the coast faces.

Check the real setting
Ask which direction you will look in the photographs and whether the sun will be behind or beside you. A sunset reference from another part of the island may not be reproducible at your accommodation. Request recent location images if possible.
Consider your own schedule
An early session may mean arranging access and transport before normal service hours. An evening session can overlap with dinner, activities or other guests. Choose the window when your group will be comfortable, not only the one with a dramatic sky.
Include tide and fallback
The waterline and weather can matter as much as the sun. Discuss shade, a nearby alternative and the time you can spend waiting. Agree any rescheduling terms before committing to a single irreplaceable window.
