Planning an NGO Impact Film for Donors and Partners
An impact film should connect a programme's work to evidence without asking one participant's story to prove every organizational claim.

Choose a defensible message
Agree which outcomes can be supported by records and which are personal experiences. Provide approved figures and their context to the filmmaker. A moving interview can illustrate a result, but should not be edited into a claim broader than the evidence.
Show the work
Plan scenes that explain what the programme does and who is involved. Include participants' perspectives where appropriate and voluntary. Avoid staged activities presented as spontaneous evidence of normal operations.
Keep review accountable
Assign programme, factual and safeguarding reviewers. Check translations, captions and numbers as carefully as the main narration. If the film is reused for fundraising later, confirm that its claims and permissions remain suitable for the new context.
