How to Feel Comfortable in Front of a Travel Photographer
You do not need modelling experience to commission travel photographs. Comfort usually comes from clear expectations and a photographer who understands how much direction you want.

Explain what feels awkward
Tell the photographer whether you dislike posed smiles, close-ups or being watched in public. You can share this privately before the day. Ask how they normally guide clients and look at full sessions featuring ordinary travellers rather than only polished portraits.
Start with movement
Walking, talking or looking at the landscape gives you something familiar to do. A short warm-up lets you learn the photographer's cues. Choose clothes and shoes you can move in without constant adjustment. You can request breaks or stop a setup that does not feel right.
Judge a sequence, not each frame
Not every camera exposure is meant for delivery. Let the photographer make a selection rather than checking the screen after every movement. At the same time, communicate if something matters to you: a preferred side, an important detail or an image you do not want made.
Before you enquire
- Describe your comfort level
- Choose practical clothing
- Begin with a simple activity
- Speak up during the session
Advice from a Moshi-based photography and film studio. Availability, fees, permissions and delivery are confirmed for each assignment; examples are planning guidance rather than a booking commitment.
