How to Brief a Photographer for a Private Celebration in Tanzania
A private celebration needs a clear list of people and moments, but it should still feel like a gathering. The photographer needs the running order and an understanding of the atmosphere you want.

Name the moments that cannot move
List speeches, entrances, a cake, a toast or any surprise. Give approximate timings and a contact who can warn the photographer about changes. Identify guests who must appear and anyone who should not be photographed. Avoid relying on the host to manage production throughout the event.
Explain the setting
Share photographs of the venue, lighting plans and any restrictions. Evening coverage may need different equipment from daytime portraits. Tell the photographer whether the venue can accommodate lighting and whether a videographer also needs access and sound.
Define the handover
Agree how formal group portraits fit around the celebration, which images need early delivery and who receives the final gallery. Publication permission should be separate from attendance. A written scope helps keep the event relaxed because the important decisions are already made.
